CONNECT Assumes Management of CEO Strategy Forum Innovative Program Addresses Strategic Growth SAN DIEGO - CONNECT and Blue Mine Group announced today that management of the CEO Strategy Forum, a “think tank” program for CEOs of emerging technology companies, has been transferred from Blue Mine Group to CONNECT. The transfer became effective in January 2007. Blue Mine Group, a San Diego firm that specializes in taking innovation to market, founded the exclusive 70 member organization in 2005. The program was designed to help members explore effective, actionable answers to the core strategic challenges their companies face through informative workshops, roundtables, webinars, and publications. The Forum also provides a venue where its members can share insights and experiences with a high caliber group of peers in an informal and confidential setting. For over 20 years, CONNECT has been linking high-technology and life science entrepreneurs with the resources they need for success. The non-profit has assisted in the formation and development of over 1,200 companies and is widely recognized as the nation’s most successful regional program of its kind. Duane Roth, CEO of CONNECT, said the CEO Strategy Forum adds another important component to CONNECT’s expanding programs for innovators and entrepreneurs. In addition to internal programs, CONNECT has created strategic relationships with technology leaders including the MIT Enterprise Forum and Tech Coast Angels. “The goals of both CONNECT and Blue Mine Group are to identify key challenges facing emerging businesses in the San Diego region, and explore effective solutions,” said Roth. “We are looking forward to building on the success of the CEO Strategy Forum as a key resource in taking San Diego’s entrepreneurs from market introduction to market leadership.” “We are delighted that CONNECT, one of San Diego’s premier organizations, will be taking the Forum to the next level,” remarked Michael Lurie, CEO of Blue Mine Group and founder of the CEO Strategy Forum. “We started this program because I could not find a group of emerging technology CEOs with whom to share perspectives. It proved to meet a widespread need, and the group grew more quickly than we anticipated. We are pleased to have made this contribution to the San Diego entrepreneurial and venture scene.”
CEOs of emerging technology and life sciences companies interested in learning more about the CEO Strategy Forum may contact Kate Bartel, CONNECT program manager, at 858-964-1300.
